So we were at Target and I spied an Our Generation doll. It is almost identical to the American Girl dolls at a small fraction of the price. Same size, same buck teeth...here is one of them...
So I showed the girl - I feigned excitement "Look this doll is even better!, She comes with a book, lots of clothes, WOW!".
The girl glanced up and said, "No thank you, she is not cute."
???? How does she know what is cute and what is not cute? Oh well, here is her wish. To be fair, I think part of the allure is that the doll is half white and half Asian and not many dolls (aside from Bratz) feature ethnic dolls. So I will keep hunting.

OMG, which American Girl doll is that? We never find dolls that look anything like Faith!
rebecca - that and the fact her parents are archeologists, there's a wild money that is tame, and raising a wild parrot and going into caves - all of that interests her. :D
shannon - you will have to scour ebay. She was discountinued two years ago. You can buy the whole world on ebay for 350. *ouch*
Ivy is Chinese and is the bff of the current girl of the Year. Dd likes her, but because she is "just" the bff she only has one books focusing on her. But she is easy to find.

I think Faith would really get into the matching outfits, especially if the doll looked like her.
Then again, her favorite priness is Aurora because she is beautiful and has blond hair. As a little girl, I would have killed for a brunette doll. :oP

Shannon - I did get the doll on ebay. It's being shipped, kyak and all. Yes, it's crazy. I'll leave it at crazy...
The our Generation Dolls dont really look like the AG dolls. They might have the same teeth and be the same size but the whole face is different. The furniture like the bed and salon chair are nice but the dolls themselves and the clothing are cheap. Sure they are twenty compared to one hundred but when you have to buy four of them because they break it would be much better to just have gotten the higher quality doll.
